CA Student Living (CASL) is an established developer of purpose-built student accommodation, providing high quality homes for students.

Through our in-house student accommodation provider, Novel Student, we offer everything from incredible wellness facilities to excellent service. All designed with one thing in mind – to create communities of healthier, happier students.

Launched in 2021, Novel operate and manage properties in Glasgow and Sheffield, along with Silk Mill (Dundee Street) and soon-to-be-opened Huxley Studios (Stanley Place) in Edinburgh. The Aspen Leicester, Aster House Belfast & Alma Place Belfast are all under construction and due to launch in September 2022.

All our developments benefit from our on-site management and maintenance team, with CCTV monitoring and wardens working to respond to any incidents. We strongly believe in sustainable modes of transport, with all our buildings offering bikes for residents to use.

Notable developments in Edinburgh include:

Silk Mill, Dundee Street

The 225-bedroom purpose-built student accommodation development opened in September 2021 and occupies a prominent site in the Fountainbridge area of Edinburgh. The accommodation is contained within a single block which is uniquely broken up by varying façade materials including brick, stone, and brass effect cladding. Containing cluster flats and studio apartments, the development includes high quality amenity spaces spread over two floors with a central landscaped courtyard featuring large format TV and barbecue facilities. Cycle parking is provided, and the use of a green roof system provides a visual amenity for both the occupants and the neighbouring residents.

Huxley Studios, Stanley Place

The 102-bedroom development was granted planning permission in March 2020 and is located adjacent to a key transport route 1.5 miles away from the Edinburgh city centre. The proposed single block will be finished in a simple palette of robust materials including buff facing brick, zinc cladding and window detailing. The range of amenities proposed include a gym, communal dining, karaoke facilities and cycle parking, with external green space also proposed. This development is due to open in September 2022.
